Well we have been quiet of late but not idle. Spring is a-springing and we are busy on a number of fronts:
The Love a Taste website has been given a spring clean, and all those words have been replaced with some smart new ‘How it Works’ graphics (thanks Tom), the colour scheme has changed to something less sepia-tint as has our typeface. Any feedback is very welcome…
Today we launch All-Red and All-White monthly subscriptions, for £14 per month. Every month we will send three different wines (red OR white/rosé) in 125ml Taster Bottles with accompanying Tasting Notes. The £14 includes delivery and subscriptions can be cancelled, suspended or amended at any time.
The All-Red subscription maybe found here
The All-White subscription maybe found here
Our main subscription remains the Mixed (red, white, rosé) Taster Box of six different Taster Bottles, comprising the 3 All-Reds and the 3 All-Whites of wine every month for £21 (inc. delivery and fully cancellable etc.) but now the red-only or white-only drinkers can opt for the half of the box and will no longer have to ‘waste’ the other colour.
The Mixed 6 subscription maybe found here
So, to the six new wines for April...
The three ‘All-Reds’:
16 Stops Shiraz McLaren Vale, Australia Shiraz (Syrah), 2016
A silky smooth McLaren Vale Shiraz full of plums and cherries, works with sweet puddings (as well as BBQs)
Goats do Roam Paarl, SA Shiraz, Cinsault, Grenache, Mourvedre, Petite Sirah & Carignan! 2016
Ruby red with plums and red fruits while the Petite Sirah provides hints of pepper and spices
Cuatro Pasos Bierzo, Galicia, Spain Mencía, 2015
Lively juicy sweet cherries and berries – Spanish yes but not like a Rioja or a big Spanish red.
The three ‘All-Whites’:
Baron de Badassière Languedoc, France Picpoul, 2017
Salty! With green apples and citrus acidity. Great with seafood and poultry, drinking now…
Pipoli Basilicata, Italy Greco/Fiano, 2017
Rich Greco and floral Fiano combine to make a fresh, rich and aromatic wine, perfect with poultry.
Vigneto Montegrande Soave, Italy Garganega, 2015
Nothing like the cheap Soaves of one’s youth… a fresh dry complex white.
